Charlène Dannancier is a French artist and composer who primarily works with sound, performance, installation, writing and film.

Her voice stands as the core element of her work, used as an instrument and aural narrative tissue, as well as a statement, engaging with autotheory practices.
Through her compositions and live performances, often embodied as her sensorial persona UNN, Dannancier crafts immersive and gripping encounters, guiding the audience along an intense trajectory that oscillates between the dimensions of intimate revelation and disquieting unease. Within this interplay, subjectivity, gender and power dynamics are interrogated, raising profound questions about the notions of consent, eroticism, control and vulnerability.

Her work has been presented and supported by Unofficial Preview Gallery (Seoul), De School (Amsterdam), Sandberg Instituut (Amsterdam), Het HEM (Zaandam), Sign+ (Groningen), OHM (Berlin), Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam), Transient Festival (Paris), Gwangju Media Art Festival (Gwangju), DOMMUNE (Tokyo), Frequent Defect (Lebanon), and more
